The Authority currently has several projects at various stages of completion.

Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation
The Authority has a long-term plan for rehabilitation of the older portions of the sanitary sewer collection system. The Authority started the rehab program in 1996, and since then over 19,000 linear feet of pipe has been replaced. In 2005, Phase 2 Section B of the plan was completed, which involved replacing 1,850 linear feet of pipe and rehabilitation of 4 manholes. Work on the third unit of Phase 2 will begin in February 2006 and will include replacement of 1,430 linear feet of pipe and rehabilitation of 9 manholes.

Administration Building Expansion
The Authority broke ground on an expansion to its administration building on December 20, 2005. A contract for the project was awarded to G.L. Barron, a Benbrook-based contractor, at the Board's November 2 meeting, in the amount of $890,000. The project will add 3,200 square feet to the existing building. The new space will include a larger Board meeting room, a new customer service area, and several administrative offices. A new 30-space parking lot is also included. The project is expected to take approximately six months to complete. The original building was constructed in 1986. Offices for the Field Services and Environmental Services divisions will remain in the original portion of the building.

24" Water Transmission Line
Work is continuing on a 24" water transmission line from the water treatment plant to the Sessums Pump Station. This project will serve the growing area in North Benbrook, specifically Team Ranch. The first phase of the line was constructed in 2005, and included the installation of the line from the water treatment plant to the north end of Shady River Court. Design for the second phase is nearing completion. The Authority expects to begin construction on this second phase in late 2006.

Water Treatment Plant
The most recent expansion project to the water treatment plant was completed in 2004. Total plant capacity is now 12 million gallons per day. In 2006, the Authority will demolish the older sections of the plant (A, B and C plants). These sections were decommissioned in 2004, and are no longer used for water production.
